We love Family Visits!!

We had the best time having Sarah, Jacob, and Andrew come visit us! It was so nice of them to make the 7 hour journey to Kirksville! We loved having them see our apartment and where welive, and of course meeting the girls for the first time. The boys were so cute with them. They were great helpers! Sarah gave me all sorts of tips and help and we miss them already!














Because it was conference weekend of course we had to make conference soup. If you've never heard about it, this is a Lunt family tradition that we've been doing for years. It started when we were all young and mom had us help make the conference soup to keep us occupied and quiet during conference. Since then, we have all grown to love it, and crave it 2 times a year! Basically, you just take chicken broth and go buffet style to make a soup. You fill it up with all sorts of ingredients... hence the many bowls lined along the bar. There is everything from vegetables, to meats, to crunched up doritos! There are always tons of leftovers to have more soup or throw into all sorts of other recipies the following week. Thanks Mom for this wonderfu tradition!

Our Update!

It is amazing... the girls are both asleep at the same time, and neither one is in my arms! Naturally I started running around the house thinking what should I do first... the laundry, the dishes, etc etc. Then I decided... the BLOG! It is great, I got to luxuriously check my email, read my friends blogs, and even chat for a second with Heidi and Tar. The girls are starting to sleep more at the same time every now and then, so I'm starting to have a few minutes a day to actually get something done. It is a novel idea really! I don't quite know where to begin!

We are doing great. Happy and healthy (minus the colds that we are recovering from) and hanging out in Missouri. Scott is doing so well in school. He does great on all his tests, so I'm thinking that maybe he is spending too much time studying and needs to start relaxing at home a bit more! No, but he really is liking school and doing great. He's the best dad too. The girls love him.

They are getting bigger and bigger. They had their 2 month apointment last week and weighed in at 9 lbs 14 oz and 10 lbs 5 oz. They are in the 10-25 % in everything. They had to get 3 shots, so naturally Dad took care of this. I could not have handled it. The whole rest of the day they were so sad and would cry in pain, and it made me want to cry too!

We just got back from institute which is held on campus every thursday. All the med students and the wives and kids go during lunch for an hour. The teacher is the Stake President in Columbia and is great! It is a fun outing, and nice to have a spiritual boost during the week.

I started a little lunch group with the other LDS girls and it has been fun. I like sharing baby stories and learning new sleeping tips etc. There are a lot of really great people. One girl has twins that are a couple months older than mine, so she tells me what is ahead. She said that it is getting easier and easier, and that is how I feel too.

We got to go do sealings at the Nauvoo temple last weekend and it was great. The temple is gorgeous. I love being out in this historical area. Scott got to clean temple and got a tour through all the rooms and stuff. He even cleaned up in the bell tower right under angel Moroni!

This weekend my sister Sarah and her two boys, Jacob and Andrew, are coming for a visit! We are sooo excited. We are going to make conference soup of course, so I'm glad she will be here to carry on the tradition with me. They are coming from Indiana, so hopefully the drive will be okay! I'm gearing up to take the girls on an adventure to Indianapolis one of these days.

Also of note is that one of our friends, Alice Feathers, from our old apartments in Provo passed away a couple of weeks ago. We wished we could have been there. She had lived at Suncrest for many years and had a lot of health problems. I was assigned as her visiting teacher when we first moved in, and we really became close with her. She suffered a lot physically and emotionally, so we know that she is much happier now. It makes you reflect on what is most important in life. Family, Friends and the Gospel!

Well, I hear some stirring... it is feeding time. One of these days I'll have to post a picture of me and the girls on the pink nursing pillow. It is how we spend a lot of our days, (and nights too) so it needs to be recorded...

We miss our friends and family that are scattered all over the place, but know that we think of you often and love you. We are blessed with so many wonderful people in our lives and we are grateful for you all!

Hammonds in Kirksville!

Last week we were so lucky to have the Hammond family come visit us for a night! Scott's uncle Todd is doing research on church history stuff and we live right in the middle of it all. He was driving through with his darling wife and six kids, so we loved having them stay. They loved seeing the babies too! Hope the rest of your road trip is a success! We love you! 

We all love Grandma!

Grandma Sue was our first official visitor to Missouri! We loved having her here so much! She took such great care of all of us. She was a good sport because she rode the tiniest little airplane into the Kirksville Regional Airport. There were two passengers on it only! She got here on my birthday so we all went out to eat together. The rest of the week we ran errands and pretty much held the babies. She did our laundry, cooked our meals, did our grocery shopping, and rocked babies to sleep all week. How are we going to survive without her? We love you Grandma and miss you already!

Scott's latest trick to calm a crying baby is to go for a ride on the eliptical! It is working so far! 

White Coat Ceremony

Won't Scott make the most handsome doctor? This is after his white coat ceremony yesterday. They have a ceremony to give the new students their white coat and pin them as they begin their journey in the medical world. IWe have been going to orientation events and yesterday was the ceremony. There were a few speakers and they have the students recite an oath. Each student goes on stage and gets coated and pinned. The girls did great through it all. They were little angels!
It is amazing because there are about 170 students in Scott's class and 30 of them are LDS! (This doesn't include the LDS families from the other classes) Utah is the state with the most students, and BYU the school with the most (16 I think). There are some from BYU Idaho, the Uof U, Utah State, Weber State. Our ward feels like a Provo ward a little bit with so many new young families. It will be great! We have met so many wonderful people already, and have gotten together with new friends a couple of times. Scott will do great in his classes, and is excited to get going. It will be an adventure, but a good one! We are happy about the opportunities here in Kirksville. We love our condo, and everyone we have met have been so sweet to us. Everyone has already heard about us coming with brand new twins, and it is amazing how many people have been offering to help with anything we need! We feel so blessed to be here and getting settled in to life at Med school. 

One month old!

Here I am with the girls on their one month old birthday! I can't believe how fast the time has gone and they we have had them for a month. It has truly been a busy month with the move and medical school, but I've never had more fun with these new little babies in our lives. I've decided that being a mom is the greatest thing in the world! I just look at them all day and think, "How am I so blessed?" They keep me busy which is nice (especially now that Scott is in school). They each have such fun personalities and darling mannerisms. They make the cutest faces too! They both know what they want, and when they get hungry, the whole town of Kirksville can probably hear the cry! (That is why Bella looks a little distraught here!) Anyway, they are getting so big already! They are almost 8 lbs each! I don't know how I'll carry them around when they get bigger, but for now we have having a blast, getting strong arms, and loving every second with our precious angels! 

Kirksville or Bust!

Well, we made it to Kirksville, Missouri! This is our new home for the next couple of years. We had quite the experience getting here. It started with our moving day when our boxes and furniture got poured on (during the small "hurricane" that hit Provo) and we had to re pack everything and dry out all our furniture. I was sure the truck we had rented was too small, but somehow everything got in! Scott and his dad drove out to Kirksville and unloaded and set up most of our new place. They did so much work and everything looks great! I had no idea I married such a handy man... he's been building shelves, putting in blinds, making cribs etc. We have a great 3 bedroom condo (plenty of room for visitors!) Then Scott came back to Utah to fly out with the girls and me. Of course the day of our flight was the day of the terrorist threat on the flights from the UK to the US so no liquids were allowed in carry on bags. This added lots of extra security and lines, but we somehow made our flights. We were quite the spectacle hurrying through the airports with our 3 week old twins in baby bjorns on our chests and 4 bags and 2 car seats! We were interviewed by the news when we made it to Missouri (The girls first TV appearance) and we were also on the news in SLC. What a day! Then we had to drive to Kirksville which should have been about a 2 1/2 hour drive, but turned into a 5 hour drive by the time we stopped to feed the babies every 2 hours! WE MADE IT THOUGH! Our place is great, the ward will be wonderful, we have very sweet and helpful neighbors, and so far we are just trying to settle in with the girls. We are happy to be here and excited for Scott to start school!

So long P-town!

Before we moved away from Provo we had to get a picture in our BYU attire with the cougar! Our Provo days were wonderful and we will miss them! BYU was so good to us... of course because we found each other there, but also for many other reasons. We loved the wards we were in, the friends we made, the classes we took, the fun restaurants and dates we went to, etc. We'll always have a special place in our hearts for Provo! Scott is teaching our girls already to be BYU sports fans!

Scott's entire extended family on his mom's side was there. We all took a group photo which was quite an event! We miss all our family already!





 

From truck driver to med student...

This is in remembrance of Scott's days as a driver for Sunroc! Someday we might look back on these hours of driving and lifting with fondness, but for now, he is excited to be starting school. On to bigger and better things! Scott worked at Sunroc for about a year, and did learn a lot. He met some good people, and we loved having his work so close to home. He got to come home and meet me for lunch every day and I loved it!

 

A baby story...

We are spending our days loving these girls, feeding them, changing diapers, etc etc. We are trying to get them to sleep at the same time, but it is kind of comical! They are at least eating together, so I'm able to do some other things during the off time

Scott has been the best dad! He is just a natural and he loves them so much. He has had to do so much since there are two and so he is up all night with me changing and helping feed etc. etc. He is a champ!

Birthday!

On Tuesday, July 18th we had our twin girls! Everything went so well, and they are so darling. The labor was quick and we were able to bring them both home from the hospital healthy and good. We named them Madelyn and Isabella Rynearson. Bella was born first at 8:24 am and weighed 5 lbs 13 oz. Maddie was born at 8:30 am and weighed 6 lbs 4 oz. They are fraternal twins and it is fun to see the differences in them, but have them both be so beautiful. We can't get enough of them!

Why don't they come?

Okay, so no babies yet...

I think we got it in our heads that they would be totally early, so now it seems like we have been waiting forever! I'm 37 weeks tomorrow, which is really good, because the longer I'm pregnant the more developed and healthy the girls will be! It would be nice to have them so that we don't have to move a week after they are born, but the timing is not in our hands... we never know best anyway!

Things are looking great with both girls... about 5 lbs 11 oz and 5 lbs 6 oz these days. Good healthy babies we hope! They have got to be so crowded and mushed in there. I've been blessed with a great pregnancy. Lots of sickness, but no bed rest or strange complications, so I really can't complain. I'm actually feeling really quite good these days too, which might either mean labor is close, or just that I'm so used to this that a few more weeks won't hurt!

We are being patient, enjoying our "calm" (yet somewhat uncomfortable) lives together before our world gets a little crazy. I'm trying to stop looking at the ever increasing stretch marks on my tummy, and me sweet hubby assures me that he loves me anyway!

Speaking of love... Sunday is our 3 year anniversary! Can you believe it has been 3 years? The best three years ever, and I wouldn't trade the wonderful time we've had together for anything! It just seems like Scott has always been part of my life, and what would I do without him?

We'll keep you updated, and we hope that within the next couple weeks our family will double!

Happy 4th!

We had a great fourth of july weekend celebrating with family in Oakley, Utah! We went to the Rodeo of course, and also to the parade in the morning. Scott went with my dad on a 26 mile bike ride up Smith Morehouse so, they got a good workout! It was fun to relax with the fam and have Sarah and the boys in town too! At every Lunt family party there is always tons of good food and great company. We love you all!

Diamond Rio

We had an awesome time at the Diamond Rio concert in Spanish Fork last night! We were reminded to "Love a little stronger, dig a little deeper," "Meet in the Middle," and "Believe." I just love country concerts on a nice summer night, and it is the best to have a fun date with my hubby! He is so darling as he sings along to all the songs! I love that he has converted to country! Wahoo!

Baby update

Does it seem like all I write about is babies? I'll just say that it gets difficult for other things to occupy my mind as I get bigger and closer... We had a couple of doctor's apointments this week, and things are looking good. I'm currently 32 1/2 weeks and my doctor said that anytime after 34 weeks is okay for me to deliver! That is only a week and a half away. Wahoo! He also said that he wouldn't let me get past 37 weeks, which is also a huge relief, so we don't have to worry about going all the way into August!

Through the ultrasound today, we found out that both babies are still head down (and will most likely stay that way, as it gets more and more crowded) which means that there is a good change for a regular birth instead of c-section. The perinataligist (sp?) said she'd recommend trying for a regular birth if the babies stay this way in the next couple of weeks. The only thing with twins is that there is always a possibility that after having the first one normally, the second could have to come by c-section. I definitely don't want to have to recover from both types... so we will see how things go.

The babies are 4 lbs 1 oz and 4 lbs 3 0z right now, so that is 8 lbs of babies currently. In a couple of weeks, they should each be around 5 lbs, so that would be great. Things are looking good, and we are getting excited, trying to stay patient, and enduring the heartburn, nausea, etc. etc. Lets get these Rynearson twins here!

Sports, Sports, and Sports!

We had an exciting weekend of Sports around the Rynearson house! Scott played with Kevin Hinton (Alicia's Husband) in a doubles tennis tournament. They played friday night and won their match! They were so cute, and I had a great time hanging with Leash and baby Andrew. Scott organized an Elder's Quorum golf tournament on Saturday morning, (which he won, by the way) so he was in heaven! We then went back up to SLC for him to play in the doubles tournament finals. Who should he and Kevin be playing except the Tullis brothers, Adam and Jim. Well, Scott and Kevin lost, but it was a close match and all had fun! We then went swimming and spent some time watching a mixture of the World Cup, college baseball, and of course the NBA finals. We are getting prepped for this weekend's events. Scott is playing in another tennis tourney - both doubles and singles this time!! All I can say is that we better have some boys someday! I love my darling athlete husband!

Child Birth Education!

Well, Scott and I went to our first prenatal class yesterday. We just meet four times for a couple of hours over the next few weeks. It was really fun! We talked all about pregnancy and labor and all that fun stuff. I was so proud of myself, because I didn't even really start to feel sick! Normally this kind of stuff just doesn't work for me, but I did good! We'll see how it goes when I actually have to go through it! Scary! Next week we are discussing epidurals and C-sections. great! Anyway, it is just fun to be with Scott and get excited about the new additions to our little family. There is another couple in our class who is also expecting twin girls. She is a few weeks behind me (and quite a bit larger than me) so it made me grateful that I'm not any bigger or more uncomfortable. It could be worse! We watched quadruplets being born on a baby story yesterday and you should have seen that poor mother! wow! We are so excited about having twins though! So fun! Congrats to Paige and Bryce and their new daughter, Lucy! We are so happy for them. We hope all is going well.

P.S. Divas: Who should we run into at the class but Pete Jackson and his wife. They are having a baby boy due July 10th. It brought back all sorts of wonderful David John memories!

Baby Shower

We had such a fun baby shower over the weekend at the Tullis home! It was an Oly High reunion. I loved getting caught up with everyone and getting updates. Thanks so much to Leash and Sarah (the two veteran mommies) for doing so much work! It was so sweet of you! We loaded up on some essential baby gear, and we are getting more and more excited all the time! I've decided after seeing this picture that I'm not allowing any more pregnant pictures for the rest of the time. It just looks silly! Faces only from now on!
